CARD REVIEW | Last reviewed October 22, 2026
QUICK TAKE
The Chase Sapphire Reserve is a premium travel card with a broad set of travel and lifestyle credits, lounge access, and elevated earning. The $795 annual fee makes it a fit only for travelers who will use enough benefits at their real value.
ANNUAL FEE
$795 per year; $195 for each authorized user. Review annual fees and authorized-user fees in the current issuer terms.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
Earn 8 points per dollar through Chase Travel, 4 points on flights and hotels booked directly, 3 points on dining worldwide, and 1 point on other eligible purchases. Current benefits include up to $300 in annual travel statement credits, airport lounge access, travel protections, and other travel and lifestyle credits. Eligible Ultimate Rewards points can transfer to participating airline and hotel programs. Some credits require enrollment, use of specified merchants or booking channels, and compliance with benefit terms; qualifying travel-credit purchases do not earn points.
WHO IT MAY SUIT
Consider it if you travel often, value lounge access and the card’s specific credits, and would pay for those services anyway. The premium earning and transfer features may also suit someone who actively compares award travel with cash prices.
TRADEOFFS
The $795 annual cost is substantial, and advertised benefit totals are not cash in your pocket. Calculate your personal value based on benefits you will actually redeem, and account for coupon-like credits and restrictions. The $300 travel credit offsets only qualifying travel purchases. Check travel protection exclusions, lounge access rules, credit enrollment, and current transfer ratios before relying on them.
