QUICK TAKE
Freedom Unlimited is a no-annual-fee cash-back card with a useful flat rate for everyday purchases and higher rates on dining, drugstores, and Chase Travel. It is straightforward as a cash-back product and can become part of a Chase points strategy when paired with an eligible premium card.
ANNUAL FEE
$0.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
Earn 5% cash back on travel purchased through Chase Travel, 3% on dining (including takeout and eligible delivery) and drugstores, and 1.5% on other eligible purchases. Rewards do not expire while the account remains open. Chase describes rewards as cash back, but eligible cardholders may combine points with certain Ultimate Rewards accounts and transfer them to partners through an eligible premium account. Introductory offers and APRs change; see the current terms. Check the current foreign-transaction fee before using it internationally.
WHO IT MAY SUIT
Consider it if you want a no-fee card for broad everyday spending and prefer predictable rewards over rotating categories. It can complement a Sapphire card: use category cards where they earn more, then combine points if your accounts meet Chase’s rules.
TRADEOFFS
The base rate is 1.5%, so compare it with other no-fee catch-all cards. The 5% travel rate applies to eligible bookings through Chase Travel, not all travel spending. Cashback is simplest to redeem; transferring points takes planning and requires an eligible linked account. Do not value a point as a fixed cash amount without checking the redemption path.
REFERRAL OPTIONS
The invitations you supplied can present Freedom Unlimited and/or Freedom Flex. Check that the application shows the product you intend and compare its offer with current public terms.
